Sick Day

Jaelyn woke up with a sore throat and I had been suspicious the night before when she was a bit mopey, and the morning before when she had slept in, and now, sure enough, when I stared down her throat with the aid of a giant flashlight, puss oozed out of her swollen tonsils. I canceled classes, canceled babysitters, canceled Sam & Addison's playdate and carted the kids back and forth from my office to the conference room, to my classrooms, to my office, to the doctors office (where a now-no-longer-sore-throat-Jaelyn was declared Strepp Free) back to the office, the classroom and finally home where we all three collapsed into a 3.5 hour game of monopoly.
