In Which the Tone Exceeds the Particular Events

The day felt less like the last day of soccer or Jeff's open house or the arrival of Ang & Ryan's family -- and more like a loose rhyming structure that floated atop dozens of events and conversations, binding together the the themes of laughter and friendship and love and hope and encouragement and reunion.

If it been a dream or a carefully edited montage sequence it might include:

- three near-miss drives by Addison to the goal and then (finally!) a SCORE!
- and drifting into a kitchen full of friends from 10 years ago, rarely gathered since,
- and laughing conversations with the friends we see most often and wit who we are deeply entangled,
- and cleaning and waiting for guests who will --
- arrive in the dreamy middle of the night.
