During class, just after I had explained (apologetically) to my students the unlikely series of unfortunate events which had foiled my ability to hand back their work, Jaelyn's teacher called my cell (horror and disbelief in my stomach), but it turned out that Jaelyn's sickness was probably just an adjustment / acculturation issue.
Except for Garry's worsening prognosis (blood clots around his lungs, right lung intibated for fluid abatement, left lung to be surgically examined on Wednesday), Monday droned on in familiar patterns - Aaron continued art lessons, Lynn went to grad school, I took the kids for dinner at KFC (an anomoly!), Jaelyn had art lessons with April & Lynn and I debriefed and strategized after bedtime (special guest appearance: Kara! from North Carolina!).
