Stage Four Cancer

After a sluggish start, I raced in to turn in my grades, then we all drove the (now familiar) two hours to Columbus (what will we listen to when we get to the end of the Deathly Hallows?), where at the hospital, we drifted in and out of 9 West’s cancer ward in the Doane Hospital at The Ohio State University. The day was a carousel of visits by nurse practitioners, oncology teams, vital signs, antibiotic shots, Uncles and Aunts, trips to various lobbies to play variations on Simon-Says on the various shapes of tile that define hospital floors, more walks to sit in the sunlight or buy snacks from the Wendy’s on the bottom floor of the next hospital building over.
