In Touch With the Natural World

When we returned from homegroup we were amused (laughed-out-loud for several minutes together in the car) to find that the Walnut Tree had dropped one of her largest limbs (40 feet long) on Minnie the Mini-van; our amusement stemmed more from the fact that as we were driving home astonished by the damage of the windstorm, I mentioned how delighted I would be if the wind storm could, please, total out our miserable minivan (to the kids' horrified protests) -- so imagine our sense of cosmic and poetic delight as we drove past our driveway to see MIni wearing a gargantuan tree-wig. No electricity until midnight, so we lit up the candles, decided we were too old to read in candlelight, and went straightaway to bed: Ah (!) the rhythms of the physical world!
