Celebrating Together

In the morning before anyone had arrived, but after I had doctored and re-doctored my mother-in-law's legendary macaroni salad (in my defense, I haven't made it in years, and this should be taken as a point both defending my failure and explaining how impossibly large it's legendary status had grown), Lynn returned to the great room with a discovery: "It's Miracle Whip you're missing!" -- which was, of course, right; I am always blinded by my sandwich-spread-hatred for Miracle Whip to remember that it has fortuitous uses in Macaroni Salad. Our family celebration included eating and chasing small children, playing musical games (see the fantastic skewer of our family culture by in-law Ryan on his facebook), digital pictures, internet surfing, pool playing and fantastic seats at the fireworks.
