It's a good thing, right (?), when it's hard to come up with two complete sentences to describe the action of the day because there was so much inaction? But I'll cheat a little on this second sentence and offer a montage of images that describe the day:
- lazy plastic floaties drift across the pool, their shadows pronounced and slow across the bright bottom of the pool,
- adults lazily read books and converse with children who...
- splash occasionally in the pool, play happy children games that repeat over and over throwing objects, dunking objects, laughing,
- laughs turn into shrieks when a pretend karate fight goes awry and one cousins nose bleeds profusely across his t-shirt, the floor & his shorts,
- a family wanders through the downtown art fair, striking up conversations with interesting artists and artisans while kids are astonished by fabric snakes and bent fork jewelry,
- a bountiful collection of leftovers collects on the deck table, more varieties of macaroni salad and potato salad than the slight remainder of family can eat.
