Course Prepping as A Highlight of the Day?

If I weren't teaching this course with Jay, I'd definitely take it: The American Dream in Film and we'll focus on themes of the material ideal, the individualism ideal, the civic ideal and the security ideal. Conversations with Jay are rich in the ways that serve my soul well -- happy to meander into obscure questions of politics, religion, personal development -- and always with a bit of historical context to give a little comic distance.
