A Day We Didn't Plan

Though we did jot down five possible things-to-do on one post-it note, we ended up mostly ignoring them and letting the spirit of the moment guide us; with the kids we carved pumpkins, played chess outdoors, colored & (re)read the Fantastic Mr. Fox. Later Scott & Christina came over for babysitting and Lynn and I had an amazing date by accidentally ending up at Vi Li's in Canal Fulton and then taking a sunset-into-twilight walk by the Canal -- the weather, the leaves, the food, the conversation, the making out on antique bridges -- it was all unbelieveably good.
