Good Stories, Good Day
I'm glad days aren't to do lists, and that there is more satisfaction to be had from each of them than the pleasure of completing her tasks. The pleasures of Sunday, for me included well told stories; my friend Jim before church told a long story about coming to faith despite a tepid nondenomenational experience growing up, and my friends Bei and Barb & Larry told stories about the outrageous political machinery that defines their experiences of higher ed, and finally Scott and I swapped small stories while I graded essay exams and he browsed for a new book.
